Contending and Converging for Justice by Cathy Coburn God is calling for those who would contend for justice in the earth, such as the widow in Luke 18. This longing in the heart of God and in the heart of His intercessors across the nation is why I believe the Bound4Life strategy was released and began at the place of government. The Bound4Life mandate is to appeal to the higher court of Heaven for justice and mercy while yet standing in front of the “unjust judges” of the earth. This mandate is being walked out in D.C. at the Supreme Court and court houses across the nation as red warriors take their stand. This heavenly call for contenders is also why I believe God is raising up the Justice Foundation, the law firm working to overturn Roe and Doe, and pro-life states, such as GA, with pro-life bills and amendments. All of these combined are “wearing out” the Federal Government to bring about just laws. The kings and judges of the earth are beginning to see our relentless coming. As even quoted by California Senator Barbara Boxer, “Abortion is hanging by a thread, and now we’re even seeing Roe v. Wade challenged. If this doesn’t give you the faith that this nation can be turned back to God, and that the church can move in power and authority in this day and age, then what will?”As the leaders in our nation are beginning to turn their ears, the real battle is taking place in the heavenlies as we take our seat with Christ coming before the Judge of the earth (Eph 6:12). We may see injustice before our natural eyes as we stand at the wall, but “will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”(Luke 18:7-8). The Bound4Life strategy is a relentless stand of faith believing that our prayers are heard and justice will not be denied! On Jan 14th, 2008, Bound4Life Atlanta and the church of Georgia will gather at the GA state Capital. It is the place of the highest government in our state. We will gather there not as illegitimate children pleading to flesh and blood but as the royal priesthood, sons of the living God, and those who have been appointed for such a time as this. We will be stating our case to the one whom the government rests upon His shoulders. Although we are asking for justice to come in the GA Human Life Amendment, we know that the justice that is due can only come from the Judge of the earth, the One whose name is faithful and true. He must decree it so. The word of justice must come from the mouth of The Judge. In mourning, humility, lamentation, and repentance, we will also march through the defiled streets of Atlanta. We will walk with LIFE tape on our mouths asking for mercy knowing that we deserve judgment. With LIFE tape on our mouths, we will be indentifying with the cries of the unborn and releasing a word of LIFE back into our state. In our silence, we will also repent. If we do not repent and return to the Lord as the church, we WILL receive judgment!!! Our march is not just a march but an open door in history to change the direction of our state. We will be praying the prayer of Daniel in chapter 9, verses 17-19. We will identify with the sins our state and bear the iniquity, because we are the church and that is our responsibility. We will not march with anger or judgment in our hearts towards the “sinners” of our state but rather as the guilty ones made righteous by the blood of Jesus. There is no other option than to plead a better blood. We must act but more importantly, we must PRAY! Lou Engle, the father of Bound4Life and the Call, says, “There are moments in history when a door for massive change opens. Great revolutions for good or for evil occur in the vacuum created by these openings. It is in these times that the key men and women, even entire generations, risk everything to become the hinge of history; that pivotal point that determines which way the door will swing. Esther was such a woman!” We come to the capital like Esther with confidence, boldness, and hope in our spirits knowing that our King is good! He is gathering the church and directing us once again to walk into the true destiny of our state. We must become the hinge of history. I believe that Jan 14th is a new beginning. I realize that we as Bound4Life Atlanta have been standing already for the past 2 years. The Atlanta House of Prayer has also been in worship and prayer continually night and day. These are miraculous testimonies. But, I again believe that Jan 14th, 2008 is a place of new beginnings for us as a state, for us as the church, and even for Bound4Life Atlanta. We will arrive on that day renewing our covenant with the Lord once again that we will be found standing until the atrocity ends. The siege and 24/7 prayer will continue. I believe that God is opening doors for Bound4Life Atlanta in our state as an expression of His mercy because of the cry going up in the House of Prayer. The two can not be separated. Bound4Life is a divine strategy that is being released in GA as an answer to prayer. In the House of Prayer, it is prayed that God would raise up messengers and ones who would trumpet the Word of the Lord. This is what Bound4Life is. We are messengers to our state and city releasing the Word of the Lord. The word that God has given us is “LIFE”. We trumpet LIFE, because if we are not given LIFE, than DEATH with continue and ultimately lead to our destruction. It is a word of warning, a word of judgment, a word of repentance and a word of lament. It is so simple but yet so terrifying. God is calling for the prophets. He is calling for the intercessors to weep with Him and go into the streets with His word of LIFE. We must do this Beloved. We must go! We must stand! We must understand the implications if we do not. My heart is stirred with gratitude when I think about the prayers that God has answered because of His mercy. In just 2 years we already have 9 Bound4Life chapters in the state of Georgia that are either established or being started. These are of course only those that we know about. We also just saw one of the largest abortion clinics in our state shut down and abortions stopped in Grady Memorial Hospital. Babies are being saved, but this is only the beginning. I thank the Lord for these testimonies, but it is not the time to stop, celebrate, or become prideful. We are still standing in the middle of the battle field. There are still thousands of babies being slain and hundreds of girls being taken into sex slavery and the sex industry; therefore, this is only the being of the battle. I continue with a heavy heart knowing what I am saying “yes” to when I take my stand on Jan 14th and then continually in front of the abortion clinics and governmental buildings in Georgia. I also walk in joy and confidence knowing that the God of the universe has ordained these moments for me, because He wants to hear my voice and He wants me to hear His. He so desperately wants to have friends. At the end of the day on Jan 14th, I want to know that we partnered with His heart, ministered to Him, and took our stand causing the door of opportunity to swing into destiny rather than death. I want to know that many more joined the Lord as a friend. I believe that God is and will use Bound4Life Atlanta’s platform on Jan 14th and the open doors that result from the day to draw MANY into the place of prayer. There will be a massive prayer movement of justice and mercy sweep our state and the word of LIFE will run swiftly. He will touch all races, ethnic groups, and denominations with this urgent message and reality. I do not claim to really understand how God is doing this nor the implications of it. It is far beyond my understanding. I particularly believe that we will see this take place in the African American community. As the African American church joins the LIFE movement and cry for justice once again in Atlanta, I believe that God will simultaneously impart His heart for intercession and worship. We are already seeing this play out in several ways just in the direction and open doors God is currently giving Bound4Life and the International House of Prayer. Bound4Life Atlanta is a critical vehicle to bringing many into the prayer movement in the city of Atlanta and Georgia. As the director of Bound4Life Atlanta, I appeal to the church of Georgia and the intercessors of the Lord with the fear of God heavy upon me. I am asking you to join and partner with the Lord in this moment of history on Jan 14th but even more than that to partner with the Lord as His messengers of LIFE. The siege must go on and the instructions given to us in the Word of God is to continue to stand until it the atrocity falls. We stand until we receive the inheritance and the glory due His name!
